Persian Portrayal

Culture, Media

Shirin-NeshatMy latest article for Blast Bombshell was prompted by the exciting new MFA exhibit,  She Who Tells a Story Women Photographers from Iran and the Arab World.

I am really looking forward to seeing the Boston Museum of Fine Art’s new exhibit titled ‘She Who Tells a Story: Women Photographers from Iran and the Arab World’. I think it’s wildly important to see these women’s perspectives, but also their creativity, ambition, and power. It’s also important to see the various portrayals of Middle Eastern women in media, photography included. Being a first generation American-born citizen on my father’s side, a side of my family who arrived from Iran during and shortly after the revolution, I have a great deal of interest in exhibits such as this one. – See more
